About LUET The Lehigh
University Equestrian Team is a member of the Intercollegiate
Horse Show Association and competes in Region 4 of Zone 3. We compete
at 10 regular season shows each year, and qualified riders go on to
Regional, Zone, and National finals. Out of the last 7 years: we've
always sent riders to Regionals and Zones, we've sent riders to
Nationals in 6 years, and we've had 3 Cacchione Cup riders represent
Lehigh at Nationals. LUET hosts a variety of events and fundraisers
every year, including the region show we host. LUET welcomes all
members, regardless of your riding ability or experience! There is room
for members who do want to lesson and compete, or members who would just
like to lesson or take part in events.

| About the IHSA The IHSA has divisions for all levels of riders, from walk/trot flat classes to 3' fences classes. The organization is unique in the fact that at competitions, each rider is randomly assigned a horse for each class. The horses are warmed up for us before their classes, and competitors are not given an opportunity to warm up or school their horses before their class. Once the managers call find and mount, you get on, we wipe your boots, and you go! IHSA judges riders on their equitation, and judges are instructed to take the horse's personality into account when scoring each rider. For more information, visit ihsainc.com.

Team Members Team members are those members of LUET who choose to participate in the IHSA shows. We have both an A team and a B team; the only difference is the level of commitment the rider is willing to make. A team members are required to lesson 2x per week, attend team practice before every show, and attend every show. B team members commit to lessons 1x per week and attend team practice before every show that they compete in. B team members are not committed to competing in every show. In the event that a school must limit rides at their shows, A team members will get priority over B team members.
| Club Members LUET refers to non-competing members as club members. Club members are always welcome to participate in any LUET event! They support LUET at horse shows, help out when Lehigh is hosting a show or providing horses for a show, and they participate in all of our events/ fundraisers. Club members are welcome to be a part of the lesson schedule, but are not required to. Being a club member is great if you want your horse fix, but don't have the time to commit to competition.
